Michael Willis

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Michael has served in leadership positions for technology companies for over 30 years and has considerable experience and expertise developing technology products and services for a variety of markets. With a focus on product development, sales, marketing, and customer support he has built successful companies and led them to exit strategies that brought considerable value to investors and other stakeholders. Michael is currently serving on the Board of Directors for EarthVisionz Inc., a leading developer of enterprise level, location aware, visual Data Management and Decision Support Systems.

He recently served as the President and COO of Boulder Imaging, a leading machine vision products company. Under his leadership Boulder Imaging evolved from a custom solutions engineering company to a products company, now successfully launching three cutting-edge machine vision products. Prior to Boulder Imaging, Mr. Willis served as CEO for Tombstone Technologies, a publicly traded software company developing SaaS software systems for the printing industry and acquired by Hunt Global Resources in 2010.

He served as the President and COO of Digital Creators, a pioneer and leader in education technology which was acquired in the late 1990’s by TeleTech Inc. Previous positions include: President and Co-founder, and current Board member, of Digital Directions International Inc, a leading educational technology company; President and COO of Paragon Solutions, a Chicago based IT consulting company and one of the first to develop off- shore software development facilities in India and Viet Nam; Group Vice President for Production and Development for Jones Digital Century, a division of Jones Intercable, then the 5th largest cable company in the US; and the Vice President for Production for Philips Interactive Media, a division of Philips Electronics. Michael has served on the faculty of Montgomery College, the University of Southern California, The University of Denver, and the University of Colorado, Boulder in computer science, software design and development, and technology management.

Michael is an accomplished jazz musician who enjoys hiking and bicycling.


Zung Vu Tran, Ph.D.

Founder and Chief Science Officer

Dr. Tran was formerly a Research Professor of Biostatistics, Colorado School of Public Health, and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. He has also served as Interim Director, Biostatistics & Data Management Core, University of Colorado Cancer Center, and Scientific Director, Biostatistics & Data Management Core, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Tran brings over 30 years’ experience in senior-level management in academic as well as pharmaceutical and medical device industry settings. He is recognized as a leading authority in meta-analysis methodology. As a pioneer in this science of data extraction, integration and analysis, he was the first to publish a meta-analysis in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Tran was also the first scientist to receive a NIH R01 grant for developing and applying meta-analysis methodology. As Professor of Biostatistics, he specializes in the design and analysis of clinical trials. He also has considerable expertise in survey research methodology and management of large research databases.

He has served as a consultant for a number of pharmaceutical and medical device companies and has served on numerous NIH Study Sections (grant reviews) for over 20 years. He has received numerous peer-reviewed federal and foundation research grants, both as principal investigator and co-investigator and is currently a co-investigator and senior biostatistician for several on- going NIH-funded clinical trials.

Dr. Tran lives in Erie, Colorado with his wife, and has three adult children. He enjoys fine foods and wines, and is a Rocky Mountain Regional Champion auto racer.


William Kent

Founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer

William brings over 30 years of experience in both domestic and international business and market development, working with a broad range of technology and industrial companies, from start-ups to Fortune 200 companies. William has worked with leading companies from India, China, Japan, Canada, the US, and Western Europe to develop business models and marketing strategies in a wide range of geographic and vertical markets. William is passionate about pairing the right products in the right markets to position companies for growth and to bring value to consumers. As president of a mid-west based business practice consulting company, William successfully worked with his clients to define markets for their products, develop manufacturing and distribution practices, develop customer service strategies, define launch strategies, and grow market share.

Most recently William worked as the Senior VP of Boulder Imaging. William led the product development and operational development for BI to transition the company from R&D to product manufacturing. Previously William led the development of a technology company in the electric vehicle market to design and develop state-of-the-art vehicle management systems.William has worked with a variety of companies to develop products and market strategies such as Liqui-Met, Novaflow Systems, Micro-Metal, Soujanya Enterprises, Parekh Group, Virttel and Motostorm. For each of these companies William defined vertical markets, created market development plans and built market share.

William is an avid jogger, cyclist and golfer. William is a strong advocate of corporate social responsibility and is committed to building companies that make a positive contribution to the communities in which they operate.


Neil A. Cox

Founder and Chief Financial Officer

Neil has more than three decades experience in the securities and financial industry. He brings enthusiasm, energy and a solid base of understanding in acquisitions, strategic planning, private and public financing. He has been instrumental in helping dozens of companies secure early stage financing.

Neil is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for Rare Green, Inc., a mineral resource focused exploration company.

He recently served as the Vice-President of Finance and on the audit committee for Boulder Imaging, a leading machine vision products company.

Prior to Boulder Imaging, Mr. Cox was the founder and served as CFO for Tombstone Technologies, a publicly traded software company developing SaaS software systems for the printing industry and acquired by Hunt Global Resources in 2010.

Neil founded IDMedical.com, served as CFO and was instrumental in the financing and guidance process in making the company become publicly traded. The software company helped pioneer computerized medical records on the Internet. Its software was leading edge by using an interactive website that allowed for developing complete medical histories viewable on demand by health care providers.

Mr. Cox worked as an Investment Banker and was a registered principal and owner of Rocky Mountain Securities & Investments, Inc. for over 20 years.

He served as a Lieutenant in the US Army, is a licensed insurance broker and enjoys hiking and basketball.
